Building on a strong foundation.. Christabella Rose
When Avril brought Rose to WA in 2002, she became the first *Fame Maker R daughter in Western Australia. She is arguably one of WA's top Arabian mares with a valuable pedigree, show horse conformation and attitude.
Purchased from her breeders, Pyramid Park Arabians (located in NSW), Rose has been everything we hoped for. An incredible mare in both type and pedigree, she is an exemplary show horse with a perfect, powerful trot and lovely halter stand up.
In temperament, Rose is the darling of every paddock she graces and a firm favourite of everyone who passes through 'her' paddock. Rose is slow to trust and can be timid at times, but has limitless courage and heart for those she respects. Rose will rarely refuse to attempt a jump, no matter what size and shape.
Rose was broken in during 2005 by respected natural horsemanship trainer, Steven Bourke. She has developed into a wonderful saddle mare, and is currently training lightly in elementary dressage. Rose has shown great interest and talent for the challenges of under saddle work, and may appear in the ridden shows after producing some foals for us. She shows potential for jumping, choosing her approach and take off well.
Rose has attended three halter shows, at her first (All Arabian 2004) not placing (with an attack of acute overexcitement), her second (All Arabian 2005) receiving two second places under French judge, Dr Richard Philstrom (in her mare & classic trot classes), her third, attending the WA State Championships 2005 she was awarded WA Reserve State Champion Intermediate Mare under respected US judge and breeder Ms Cindy Reich. Not bad considering she was trained and conditioned by an amateur each time. Rose shows definite National potential, and indeed qualified for the 2006 Nationals. Unfortunately, our remoteness meant that costs were too high for us to attend.
Rose's outcross pedigree provides a good basis for our program, with only double Bask and double Sherif in the 5th generation. She carries one cross to Padron through her maternal grand-sire *GLF Apollo (a son of Diamond Padron), she carries Bey Shah through her sire line (the influential tail male Mirage), by paternal grand-sire Fame VF. Her sire, *Fame Maker R, a National champion in Australia, Canada and the US, is a 3/4 brother to renown US show stallion Versace. Her dam, Jiah Meridian, is bred by Jiah Arabians, breeders of the outstanding WA show gelding Magnate. Her pedigree is 100% Mulawa breeding, with her sire, maternal grand-sire & grand-dam being Mulawa horses. The *Fame Maker R/*GLF Apollo cross has been proven very successful, and Rose is a 3/4 sister to at least six winners of National honours. Rose's strain is Koheilah Rodan through Rodania's daughter Rose of Sharon, and she is very true to strain, being both muscular and compact in the body.
The sire we have chosen for her first foal is recent US import American Hero (NV Beau Bey x Golden Silk). See our sales page for more info on this exciting breeding. The outbreak of Equine Influenza in East Australia early in the 2007/8 breeding season put a halt to our plans for this breeding, with Hero being placed in quarantine and WA closing its borders to any breeding material from previously infected zones. In the 2008/9 breeding season, we will again attempt this exciting breeding.

D'Amors Sorayaa Shaklan (D'Amors Abdulla (exp NZ) x D'Amors Saneyaa Shaklan)
With special thanks to Chambord Arabians of WA, we are delighted to have Sorayaa join us. A beautiful young mare who has done well in the show rings over East as a youngster, Sorayaa is a pleasure to have around.
Sorayaa carries two crosses to *Amir El Shaklan close up, with a heavy dose of 'Golden Cross' breeding through her pedigree. She traces back to the Spanish tail female, Sambry, and is of Hamdani Simri strain.
Sorayaa is an irridescent fleabitten grey, with steel grey mane and tail - quite a stunning combination! She has a short, dishy face and huge dark eyes, lovely neck and good depth through the chest. Sorayaa has the finest coat we have seen! Her temperament is the best we have come across in the breed - Sorayaa is a true breed ambassador, and regularly found being brushed by groups of young children all fussing over her. Sorayaa wants nothing more than to be by your side and having scratches, and is easy to do anything with.
We plan to break Sorayaa in over winter 2010, before conditioning her up for the spring/summer shows. Keep an eye out for her next season!
